Blueprint's sketches 44

Here's the sketch 44 in Blueprint; a 2 pages layout, yeah!

For me, I pick some of the photos from my last twenties birthday to work on this sketch. It is perfect sketch for me because it helps to group my photos, one side showing how fun we are inside the limo, and another side showing how we dine in my favourite Italian restaurant in shanghai. It’s so cool that my friend Chan who owned limousine car business offered me a ride by taking all my friends to the restaurant and celebrates my birthday. What a way to say goodbye to my late twenty, right?

P/s: In this layout I tried a new technique to make flower with heart shape cut-out. It’s easy and so fun!

Clip the twins

The minute I saw this big table clip in Artfriend, I just bought it without thinking. So it has been sitting there quite a while until I found these adorable twins in newly bought DWC papers.

Here’s I am “clipping” the twins, with a lot of flowers…this is the girl side...

The boy side...

They are so adorable, right?

Inspired by Donna Downey

Donna Downey, one of the talented scrapbooking celebrities that I know, who is always so inspirational, will be coming to Singapore this Saturday. Too bad I can’t make it for the workshop. But I constantly look out her works in her blog http://donnadowney.typepad.com/ to see her latest creation. This time I was inspired by her ruffles apron and the color scheme.

I made a 12x12 layout with canvas, and mixed oil pastels with water to create a free style background. Then I layered fabrics to give a ruffles look. Lastly, handmade flowers with prima flowers become my final touch on this layout. There’s how it turn out…

Are you feeling “Donna” now? Hehe…

By the way, I am glad that I met her once in last year’s workshop. Here’s our photo!

A night at PS café

Thanks girls… you have made my day! The restaurant, the food, the services, everything is fantastic. Of course the most important thing is; I love your company! It’s not easy to get everyone gather together especially everyone is quite occupied with own schedule, so I am so glad you can make it and I hope there’s more to come…

Before “food” war start… a friendly pose

Rarely to see Jane1 making funny face, so must make a pose with her...

Here come the serving ...

Ready… Go… within an hour, all plates are clear... super "efficient"

Not to forget my birthday presents too, Yeah!!

In return, I am giving away my special designed tin & jams. And my lucky winner is Ivy!

And here’s Jane2 “stealing” my complimentary cocktail…

Night can’t end without super yummy desserts…

PS: To Journie, see what you had missed… hehe :)

Birthday celebration

Oh yes, it’s my birthday! My hubby bought my all time favorite blueberry cheese cake, so yummy! Such a simple and warm heartening night with my family…

P/s: in fact I did a cake for myself, or should I said I scraped a cake for myself. And I am going to use it as one of MWL Sizzix assignment project, so soon I’ll reveal it on blog, yeah!

Tin it...

For this month’s Websterspages Challenge-Spring into Gift Giving, we are asked to make a fun altered tin or box filled with goodies for a friend. Immediately I thought of the tin container that I had for a long time which I didn’t use it at all. And I also wanted to give away some fruit jams that received from my French colleague because I know I can’t finish it all by myself. With this gift idea, I have transformed a simple black tin to a cherry fruity packaging!

Before "Make over"

Now...

I used Sizzlits Dies – Decorative Label set#3 (6563220) to cut out the label shape with foil sticker, to make it look like a metal tag. Lastly I decided to add a handle for the tin so that it complete the “gift” looks. What do you think?

Wall painting

I did something big today! Yes, I paint big swirls on a wall of 1.8m L x 2.1m H size. It is my sis-in-law’s new house bedroom. She wanted some features on her bed head wall but yet she can’t decide what or how she wants to do about it. So I volunteer to be her artist by drawing something on the wall; a fast and economic solution for her. She gladly accepts it and she picked a colour and motifs for me to work on. And my super nice hubby also helps up to paint the wall brown colour for me to work as a background colour. Once I draw out the outline of the motif, then I get into business real fast. By evening, my mission accomplished!

Before...

Working on it...

**Dang-dang...

Although my sis-in-law like it, but I still think the outline is a bit too thick, so I might want to touch up it by adding some fine lines, make it more dimension and layers. Let’s see how it turns up when furniture move in this Wednesday...

CNY 2010

Today is last day of Chinese Lunar New Year 2010. So I decided to pick one of my favourite photos that taken in first day of CNY, we are all dress up and get ready to welcome our guests at home.

The layout design was inspired by my chong-sam dress, and flower motifs. I consider myself quite a slow scrapper, but for this layout I did it less than 2 hours, very unusual for me...

“Blow” the cloud

Tomorrow will be Joei’s 8th birthday and I just realised that I have yet to scrap her 7th birthday photos. Without further delay, I immediately jump into the drawing board. In one afternoon, I managed to print out the photos, scrap it and “blow” the cloud. Oh yes, blow the cloud, I just said. I experimented to make a “bubble-like” cloud by using glossy accents and shimmery powder, and then heat it with heat gun. The result is surprisingly interesting. It blows up like the eggs on the hot plate. Once it cold down, it is quite hard and the inflated shape remains. I love how it turns out to be. And I am sure Joei will like this bubble-cloud too  :)

What a fun day of experiment.
