All you need is LOVE

Bought the My Mind’s Eye LOVE ME DO papers for so long, finally I decided to take it out and scrap it! Once I cut out the hot balloon, things just go into shape and there it goes...

Love is in the air...

Scoop on Sizzix @ Made With Love - Vol. 4 Sep/Oct 2010‏

Newly scoop on Sizzix is out now! Here are the projects that I shared with you...

Theme: Texture; Ideas for layout, card

Project 1: “Inspire” hand-made chalk board

First time trying out chalkboard paint and I didn’t expect it is so easy to apply. Here I make-over a Daiso MDF clipboard to a chalkboard hanging panel. With a touch of flower trims, ribbons, fabric, button, washing tapes, chipboards, sticker, etc. Instantly it becomes a personal inspiration ideas board.

Project 2: “Inspire journey” layout

Love this black& white photo and would like to add nostalgic feeling by layering the pattern paper and some “wear& tear” textures into it. Hanging signage, cut-out pens, rolls up a note and wax seal; all embellished based on the same concept.

Project 3: Notebook

A personalized gift idea; transform an ordinary notebook with a pocketed cover. Pick a favorite pattern paper, measure to size, and distress it. Then make a pocket with the same pattern paper, run a ribbon across the die-cut buckle and sew all down to the first pattern paper. Then paste the assembled papers on top of the notebook cover. Follow by embellishment like flowers, trims, pebbles, clip, glitter, and apply glossy accents on some of the portion to give a difference texture.

Repeat similar steps for the back of the notebook expect its much smaller in size compared to the cover.

For the notebook tag (or bookmark), I used embossing paper with Textured kits then die-cut the shape with tag. Then add the same pattern paper, ribbon on both side of the tag. On one side of the tag, I added phase “inspire” and apply some matte accents with glitter. On another side, I simply add a clock face with a tint of clear cracker paint, and some drew drops. Lastly tie pink gauze with flower to finish the overall look.

Project 4: “Hello” transparency card

I wanted to try to make a card with difference materials and mix medium, so I fold half of an A5 size transparency, and then mixed difference colour alcohol ink as a background of the card. Then I stamp motif with Stazon ink on the edges, follow by die-cut the flower with pattern papers to be paste on top on the alcohol ink. And I pasted a double sided vintage paper at the back of the transparency to create some layering. For the card title, I randomly apply difference pattern washing tape on a white cardstock and then die cut it with the phase “Hello”, the effect is interesting as you won’t know what or how the effect will be until you get the phase cut out. Then run across the card with washing tape and colour string and overlay the tag sticker to secure its’ position. Finally touch up the card with some sticker, paper and rhinestones.
